Where it works
Red passion flowers with blue-and-white banded coronas climb dark green leaves against a brown fluted column in Thornton's plate, blue sky at the edges. It suits a dining room or an entry with dark green, navy or terracotta walls at 16×24 in black, no mat, beside his Blue Passion Flower.
