A red-haired young woman in a yellow dress holds a sprig of flowers, in profile against a blue ground, under the lettering Salon des Cent and the announcement of an exhibition of Grasset's work. Grasset designed the poster in 1894 for his own exhibition at the gallery of the magazine La Plume, 31 rue Bonaparte, the first of the Salon des Cent shows; the heavy outline and flat colour come from stained glass, which he also designed, and from medieval illumination. Printed by G. de Malherbe, Paris. The impression reproduced is in the Bibliothèque nationale de France.
This exhibition-poster edition shows the whole work beneath original typography set in-house. The original is in the public domain.
