The clown Cadet-Roussel, in a yellow coat and bicorne with a red umbrella over his shoulder, gallops across the sheet on a bucking black horse. Jules Chéret designed the poster in 1882 for the equestrian pantomime Cadet-Roussel at the Hippodrome by the Pont de l'Alma in Paris. Printed by Chaix; the impression reproduced is in the Bibliothèque nationale de France.
This exhibition-poster edition shows the whole work beneath original typography set in-house. The original is in the public domain.
