A masked woman in a yellow ball gown waltzes with a fan in her hand, while men in top hats and clowns crowd in behind her. Jules Chéret designed the poster for the masked balls of the 1896 carnival at the Paris Opéra; the same image was also issued before letters as Carnaval 1896. Printed by Chaix; the impression reproduced is in the Bibliothèque nationale de France.
This exhibition-poster edition shows the whole work beneath original typography set in-house. The original is in the public domain.
