Burgundy, Oxblood & Wine-Red Wall Art
Deep red is the 2026 colour the designers keep naming — burgundy walls, oxblood sofas, cherry and wine. Art for it, or in it: the Art Deco cocktail chart in oxblood, Redouté's crimson Bengal and burgundy cabbage roses, Audubon's cardinal and scarlet tanager, gold-line botanicals on an oxblood ground, abstracts in plum, ember and jewel, Hokusai's Red Fuji.

Red on red, or red against it
Two ways to hang in a deep-red room. Tone on tone — an oxblood Deco poster or a plum abstract on a burgundy wall — reads as rich and enveloping, the hotel-bar effect. Or contrast — a cream-ground rose specimen, a gilt botanical, a cardinal on white — which lets the wall be the colour and the print be the light. Both work; pick by how dark the room already is.
Where the colour comes from
The reds here are real pigments from real plates: Redouté's stipple-engraved roses, Audubon's cardinal, the vermilion of a Hokusai sunrise. The render-native pieces — the oxblood cocktail chart, the gilt botanicals, the plum and ember abstracts — were designed as colourways for exactly this kind of wall.
