Butter Yellow & Golden Wall Art
Butter yellow is the soft 2026 colour — on walls, sofas and now the art. The yellow plates: Van Gogh's Sunflowers, Audubon's goldfinch and Baltimore oriole, a whole run of yellow warblers, Redouté's daffodil and daylily, the USDA's quince, apricot and lemon, Koson's warbler among chrysanthemums; and the render-native pieces made in it — cut-out lemons and mimosa, the champagne cocktail chart, the sun and citrus abstracts.

How yellow behaves on a wall
Yellow is the colour that reads as light, so a single yellow print lifts a dim room more than a lamp. On a butter-yellow wall, go tonal and soft — a daffodil specimen, a cream-ground warbler — or go full contrast with the Prussian-blue Hokusai. On white or grey, Sunflowers or a goldfinch is the warmest thing you can hang.
Real yellows
The yellows here are the pigments of the plates — Audubon's goldfinch in its summer plumage, the chrome yellow Van Gogh squeezed straight from the tube, the ochres of a USDA quince. The abstracts' citrus and dawn colourways and the cut-out lemons were designed as warm-wall pieces.
