Mucha — The Arts
Dance, Painting, Poetry and Music: Mucha's 1898 set, each art paired with a time of day.
4 prints · printed to order on heavyweight matte paper · framed or unframed
The set
The Arts, published by Champenois in 1898, is the most inventive of Mucha's sets. Instead of attributes like a brush or a lyre, each art is paired with a moment of the day and a mood in nature: Dance with the morning wind among leaves, Painting with a flower in full daylight, Poetry with the evening star, Music with birdsong under a moon. The circular haloes behind each figure are the device Mucha used again in his best posters.
