Mucha — The Moon and the Stars
Mucha's night-sky set of 1902: four figures for the Moon and three stars.
4 prints · printed to order on heavyweight matte paper · framed or unframed
The set
The Moon and the Stars, published in 1902, is the darkest and most dreamlike of Mucha's sets. The four figures, the Moon, the Pole Star, the Morning Star and the Evening Star, drift in veils against deep night skies, and the panels are the tallest and narrowest Mucha designed. They were among the last of his decorative series before he turned to the Slav Epic.
What's here
The four panels, each as its own print and as an exhibition poster.
Hanging the set
These are very tall and narrow, so the exhibition-poster edition suits them best as a set; the plain print stands as a slim column on the sheet. They belong in a bedroom, against a dark blue or charcoal wall.
