Where it works

Sea anemones from Haeckel's Kunstformen, a crowded reef of coral, cream and amber tentacles on a dim mossy seabed. It makes a warm, slightly strange bathroom print or a wall above a bathtub at 16×24 in natural wood, and it answers the cooler blues of his Jellyfish plate hung alongside.

Style, size & framing detail

Style: Antique natural-history plate
Era: 19th century
Orientation: Portrait
Palette: coral, olive, ochre, cream

Size. We'd hang this one at 16×24. Prints at 12×18, 16×24 in — 12×18 for a shelf, desk or a gallery-wall grid; 16×24 above a desk, console or in a hallway.

Framing. Choose Full-bleed for the plate edge to edge in a slim black or natural wood frame, or the White-mat border for a classic gallery look. Also available gallery-wrapped on canvas, ready to hang with no frame.
