A woman in a yellow gown stands in profile against a green and blue night, a bright star and its rays above her, under the lettering of the Concerts Ysaÿe at the Cirque Royal in Brussels, with the date of the first concert. Meunier designed the poster in 1895 for the orchestral concerts founded by the violinist Eugène Ysaÿe, and the star, the flat colour and the long yellow figure are Belgian Art Nouveau at its simplest. This is the reduced version issued in 1896 as plate 40 of Les Maîtres de l'Affiche, printed by Chaix in Paris. The impression reproduced is from the Bibliothèque nationale de France's copy of the series.
This exhibition-poster edition shows the whole work beneath original typography set in-house. The original is in the public domain.
