A young woman with fair hair and a jewelled band across her brow stands among white lilies and orchids against a blue ground, holding a flower, under the lettering Salon des 100, 17e exposition, 31 rue Bonaparte. Berthon designed the poster in 1895 for the group show at the gallery of the magazine La Plume, and it is the purest of his flower-and-maiden designs, the lilies and the hair drawn in the same soft outline; he had studied under Grasset and shared his debt to stained glass. Printed by Chaix, Paris. The impression reproduced is in the Bibliothèque nationale de France.
This exhibition-poster edition shows the whole work beneath original typography set in-house. The original is in the public domain.
