Grapes, peaches, cherries, plums and a cut melon spill across a marble tabletop with a glass of wine, painted with the glossy finish of Dutch seventeenth-century still life. Roesen, a German porcelain painter who emigrated to New York in 1848, painted hundreds of such abundant fruit pieces for American dining rooms. This one is in the Minneapolis Institute of Art.
This print reproduces the whole work, uncropped, from a high-resolution scan of the original. The original is in the public domain.
