Old books in worn bindings are stacked and tumbled in a wooden bin with a price card, as on a secondhand bookseller's table. Peto painted a number of these piles of cheap books, the subject itself a choice of the humble over the grand. It is in the National Gallery of Art, Washington.
This print reproduces the whole work, uncropped, from a high-resolution scan of the original. The original is in the public domain.
