Henry Sturgis Drinker, Beaux's brother-in-law and later president of Lehigh University, sits relaxed in a white summer suit with a ginger cat asleep on his lap. Beaux painted it in 1898, and its loose, light brushwork and informal pose show why she was compared with Sargent. It is in the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
This print reproduces the whole work, uncropped, from a high-resolution scan of the original. The original is in the public domain.
