A small table carries a blue-and-white jug, a brass lamp, an old book, a meerschaum pipe, a flute and a sheet of music falling over the edge, all glowing out of a dark ground. Harnett's 'bachelor' still lifes of pipes, books and instruments were made for men's studies and clubs. It is in the National Gallery of Art, Washington.
This print reproduces the whole work, uncropped, from a high-resolution scan of the original. The original is in the public domain.
