Two young women dance together on the porch at Prouts Neck under a full moon, while dark figures sit on the rocks watching the moonlight on the sea. Homer painted it in 1890, one of his rare night scenes. It was shown at the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1900 and bought by the French state, and it now hangs in the Musée d'Orsay.
This full-bleed edition prints the work edge to edge from a high-resolution scan of the original, very slightly cropped (a few percent at most) to fit the sheet. The gallery edition shows the whole work, uncropped. The original is in the public domain.
