A woman in a dark hat and a green dress bends over a portfolio of prints, in front of a wall of posters, the title L'Estampe et l'Affiche, revue d'art, lettered across the sheet in Bonnard's hand. Bonnard designed the poster in 1897 for the review of prints and posters edited by André Mellerio and Clément-Janin, which chronicled the poster craze of the 1890s; the drawing is in his loosest lithographic crayon, the lettering as much a scribble as the picture. Printed by Edw. Ancourt, Paris. The impression reproduced is in the Bibliothèque nationale de France.
