The pale yellow lakeside wing of Schloss Kammer sits behind three tall, rounded trees, its red-tiled main roof rising above and a few windows showing through the leaves, while the green lake below repeats the façade in soft vertical reflections. Klimt painted it around 1911 from the far side of a small bay, nearly two hundred metres away, using opera glasses or a telescope; the zoom flattens trees, wall and roof onto a single plane. He spent his summers in Kammer from 1908 to 1912. The painting entered the Belvedere in Vienna in 1936 from the collection of Adele and Ferdinand Bloch-Bauer.
This print reproduces the whole work, uncropped, from a high-resolution scan of the original. The original is in the public domain.
Where it works
Soft yellows, blue-greens and a red roof over still water make a calm picture for a living room, bedroom or lakeside house on a white or sage wall. Pair it with Kandinsky's Murnau, View with Railway and Castle, hung at 16×24 in a dark wood frame.

Size. We'd hang this one at 16×24. Prints at 12×18, 16×24 in — 12×18 for a shelf, desk or a gallery-wall grid; 16×24 above a desk, console or in a hallway.
Framing. The gallery ground is part of the print, so frame it without a mat — dark wood flatters the lighter palette; black sharpens it.
Pairing. Pairs as a set of three with other famous painting prints (10% off three or more).
