A young woman with loose hair leans on the handlebars of a bicycle, a laurel branch in her hand and a halo of wheels behind her, on a horizontal sheet lettered Waverley Cycles with the Paris address of the maker's agent. Mucha designed the poster in 1898 for the Waverley bicycles of the Indiana Bicycle Company, sold in France by Harry Reinaud, and it is one of his rare landscape-format designs. The deep red ground and the pale figure are printed by F. Champenois, Paris. The impression reproduced is in the Bibliothèque nationale de France.
This print reproduces the whole work, uncropped, from a high-resolution scan of the original. The original is in the public domain.
Where it works
A deep red horizontal sheet with a pale figure and laurel, for a hallway, garage or above a sideboard at 24×18 or 32×24 in thin black or dark wood, no mat. It suits a white or dark red wall and pairs with Cycles Perfecta.

Size. We'd hang this one at 24×18. Prints at 16×12, 24×18, 32×24 in — 16×12 for a shelf, desk or a gallery-wall grid; 24×18 above a console or sideboard; 32×24 as the statement piece above a sofa or headboard.
Framing. The gallery ground is part of the print, so frame it without a mat — dark wood flatters the lighter palette; black sharpens it.
Pairing. Pairs as a set of three with other famous painting prints (10% off three or more).
