Mucha — The Flowers
Rose, Iris, Lily and Carnation: Mucha's 1898 set of flower panels.
4 prints · printed to order on heavyweight matte paper · framed or unframed
The set
Published by Champenois in 1898, The Flowers gives each of four flowers a woman dressed in its colours and surrounded by its blooms: the Rose in rose-pink, the Iris in mauve, the Lily in white, the Carnation in red. It is the most botanically exact of Mucha's sets and the one most often hung in bedrooms and bathrooms, where its pale colours sit easily.
What's here
The four panels, each as its own print.
Hanging the set
A row of four at 12×18 or 16×24 in matched frames, or two pairs either side of a window. They pair well with the botanical plates in the catalogue.
