The Biglin brothers swing their shell around the turning stake, marked by a blue flag, in the middle of a pair-oared race on the Schuylkill, while spectators watch from the far bank. Eakins painted it in 1873 from his studies of their race the year before. It is in the Cleveland Museum of Art.
This full-bleed edition prints the work edge to edge from a high-resolution scan of the original, very slightly cropped (a few percent at most) to fit the sheet. The gallery edition shows the whole work, uncropped. The original is in the public domain.
