A small oval print of Abraham Lincoln is tacked to a battered green door, with dates carved into the wood and scraps of paper and a key around it. Peto painted several such memorials to Lincoln, the year of his assassination becoming a kind of epitaph. It is in the Minneapolis Institute of Art.
This print reproduces the whole work, uncropped, from a high-resolution scan of the original. The original is in the public domain.
