A small whitewashed hut stands in full sun, its wall dappled with the violet and blue shadows of an olive tree, with a green door, a bright bush at the left and a glimpse of sea at the right. Sargent painted it on Corfu in 1909, in the park of the royal villa of Mon Repos where he was staying. The white of the wall is mostly bare paper, with the shadows washed over it in transparent colour. The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston bought it from the artist in 1912.
This print reproduces the whole work, uncropped, from a high-resolution scan of the original. The original is in the public domain.

Size. We'd hang this one at 16×12. Prints at 16×12 in — 16×12 for a shelf, desk or a gallery-wall grid.
Framing. The gallery ground is part of the print, so frame it without a mat — dark wood flatters the lighter palette; black sharpens it.
Pairing. Pairs as a set of three with other famous painting prints (10% off three or more).
