White double doors fold back on either side of a wide opening, and through it a dark closed piano stands against the grey wall of the room beyond, beneath a small gilt-framed picture. In the foreground a dark polished table with a rounded top cuts across the lower right corner, catching light from a window out of sight. The canvas is small, 36 by 32 centimetres, and dated 1911. The National Gallery of Denmark's own Danish title spells out the scene: a room whose double doors stand open onto a room behind with a closed piano. It is listed in Alfred Bramsen's 1918 catalogue and entered the museum in 2026.
