A meadow of red poppies runs down to the rocky shore of Appledore Island, with the blue sea and a sail beyond. Hassam painted it in 1891 on one of his summer visits to the poet Celia Thaxter's island, where wild poppies seeded from her garden grew across the rocks. It is in the National Gallery of Art, Washington.
This exhibition-poster edition shows the whole work beneath original typography set in-house. The original is in the public domain.
