Riders, carriages and strollers pass along a path in Central Park under trees in leaf, painted as a flat frieze of bright dabs and outlines like a tapestry or mosaic. Prendergast painted the park many times, first in watercolour and later in oil, turning the city's leisure into decorative pattern. It is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Framing. The gallery ground is part of the print, so frame it without a mat — dark wood flatters the lighter palette; black sharpens it.
